Synopsis:

It is New York, 1950.

Senator Joe McCarthy, not yet notorious, comes to William (Bill) Kunstler, a lawyer, to have his will drawn up.

Unbeknownst to either man, McCarthy is about to plunge America into one of the most repressive decades of its history, whilst Kunstler is about to embark upon a stellar career as a civil rights lawyer/activist.

The meeting of these two men, who ultimately came to represent opposite ends of the political spectrum, acts as a catalyst in propelling each to his fate.
