Word of the wind telephone spreads far and wide, and soon there is a stream of pilgrims – survivors of the tsunami – making their way to Tsuneo’s phone.

One such survivor, Chiasa – who lost her son in the tsunami – visits regularly and, over time, begins to form a bond with Tsuneo.
