Description

Synopsis:

Jo was never much of a student.  But she found that she had what people liked to refer to as ‘a good eye’.  She saw things with a perspective and a clarity that was highly original.  As a result, she became a much sought-after art curator.

She lived in a state of relative happiness together with her partner, Christian, a linguist, until the advent of 9/11 – a cataclysm that caused Christian to become obsessed with the world of conspiracy theories.  Ultimately, he became a Flat-Earther.  So persuasive were his arguments that she soon followed suit.

Having shed their friends, one by one, they found themselves embraced by the Flat Earth community.

Jo too became something of a conspiracy activist until, one day, her son, Isaiah, found himself in the middle of one such ‘conspiracy’, at which point Jo’s world was turned completely upside down.

‘The Sleep Of Reason’ gives us a layered and profound insight into the deranged world that is upon us when logic takes a holiday.
