Description

Synopsis:

This is one of a series of plays inspired by the songs on Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’ album.

George Gershwin, a personal trainer, hires Camille to decorate his apartment to impress women.

He dates Bess (the victim of recent massive credit card fraud), who runs an online dating site – theperfectman.com – and manages to impress her into bed, only to have Snr Detective Sergeant Logan (an alluring young woman) show up and arrest him on suspicion of murder.

The victim is Camille (aka Victoria de Los Angeles).  George’s fingerprints are all over her apartment.

As it happens, Victoria was Bess’ bookkeeper, as well as being a client on her website, where it’s discovered that she communicated with George.

George hires a dope-addicted female lawyer, Maddock, who discovers that Victoria has also been conducting an online relationship with a character by the name of Sporting Life.  Could this be George’s online alias?

Bess visits George in prison, discovers Camille’s role in decorating his apartment, becomes jealous of her aesthetic and vows to redecorate.

Logan pays a visit to her germophobe analyst and announces her lesbianism, revealing that her only girl on girl experience to date was with Victoria.  She admits to jealousy in relation to George.

It’s discovered that Victoria deposited $250,000 in Sporting Life’s account the night before her death.

George and Bess wed in prison, Bess revealing a twin pregnancy and confessing to the murder of Victoria.  George, now her husband, cannot testify against her.

Bess and Logan meet in a café, declare their love for one another and toast the myth of fingerprints.
