Synopsis:
Fayola, Luna, Emilio and Calvin are waiting on the line to gain admittance to the public gallery of the Supreme Court, where Dobbs v. Jackson – the abortion case – is about to be heard. With the exception of Luna, who is a sex-worker, the others are there as paid place-holders.
Luna is there because she’s terrified that Roe will be overturned, and she wants to make her voice heard.
As the line shortens, lobbyist clients are offering thousands of dollars for a place, but the line-holding websites are the ones reaping the profits, the actual line-holders making a relative pittance.
Playing out a combative, polarised microcosm of American society, three of the four line-holders seem oblivious to the crime that is about to be committed inside the building.
But events are about to take a dramatic twist.
