The Genocide Convention

Synopsis:

On 29 December 2023, the Government of South Africa filed in the Registry of the Court an Application instituting proceedings against the State of Israel, alleging violations by the latter of its obligations under the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. This was referred to as the “Genocide Convention”.

This screenplay is an edited form of the case against Israel, together with Israel’s defence and a running commentary.
