The Fall Of Rome (excerpt)

Synopsis:

Spearheading an assault by 200 heavily armed jihadists in possession of an explosive nuclear device, Rachid and Hatir break into Pope Clement’s chambers and take him prisoner.  Rachid is wired to a cardiac monitor, so that if more than 4 seconds elapse without a heartbeat, the nuclear device will automatically detonate.  The demand is that the US President, Samuel Gold, who is in Rome for the G20, enter the chamber or else the Pope will be executed.

The result is a tense, violent standoff in which the three great religions play off against one another.
