Stalking Maria Callas

$9.99

Description

Synopsis:

It is 1977, and Leonard Bernstein has come to introduce Melbourne to Mahler.

Amongst the audience is a young, aspiring pianist, Toby, who approaches Bernstein after the show.

Somehow, he manages to manoeuvre his way into an informal ‘audition’ with Bernstein the following morning.

Over the following three days of Bernstein’s stay, the two form an unusual but intense bond, largely over their love of music and, in particular, the music and the voice of Maria Callas, with whom Bernstein has worked.

But beneath the surface of this relationship, all is not as it seems.

In an explosive climax, this true story forces us to confront the raw, imperfect emotions that drive the most sublime attempts at art.
