Description

Synopsis:

Adlai is a career criminal – a skilled player of the revolving door.

Until now.

He has been told that one more conviction will be enough to put him behind bars for life.

Aware that his psychopathic mindset will not allow him to take the straight and narrow, and unwilling to lose out on the fruits of his billion-dollar empire, he lights upon a bold plan.

He will outsource his conscience.

He advertises the position, interviewing applicants with a series of ethical dilemmas designed to test their moral mettle.

Finally, he lights on a young woman – Evening – a devout Catholic whose whole life seems to be devoted to good works.

He creates a self-contained apartment within his own, massive penthouse complex, and has her move into it, complete with religious icons and artefacts.

This will be a 24-hour-a-day job.

She accompanies him through business meetings, dates, gambling sprees – everywhere where it’s possible for her to sound the voice of conscience.

Try as she might, however, he is always one step ahead of her, and she begins to despair of ever saving his soul.

There is just one weapon remaining in her arsenal.

Outsource is a unique, metaphorical take on the nature of good and evil – the essence of what it is that separates morality from immorality.

Along the way, its often mordant humour challenges all of our preconceptions about what it is to be good.
