Description

Synopsis:

A mind-bending journey through the life and times of arguably the 20th century’s greatest mathematician, Kurt Godel.

Here was a man who basically lived on butter, who came up with a mathematical proof for the existence of God, who believed in ghosts, was paranoid to the extent that he had his wife – a former sex-worker, Adele, taste all his food and, though generally reclusive, was the closest friend and confidante that Albert Einstein ever had.

His most significant work was on Incompleteness Theory, whereby he showed that mathematics could only be consistent if it was incomplete, and only complete if it was inconsistent.  His relationship to Adele, a relationship which none of his colleagues could understand, seemed to be the only thing that made his life feel complete.
