Synopsis:
Rebekah has been raped. The ‘problem’ is that she didn’t scream.
She is wracked with shame, guilt, anger and the massive trauma of the event, stoked by her daughter, Leah, who insists that she report the matter to the police, and her mother, Sarah, who feels this would be a mistake.
The case culminates in a brutal courtroom scene followed by a tense standoff.
In a powerful, no-holds-barred deep dive into our attitudes to the crime of rape, ‘I Didn’t Scream’ holds our prejudices up to the microscope.
