Description

Synopsis:

Claude Green, a devoted philatelist, and his wife Claudette lead a very sedate and predictable existence in their suburban home, surrounded by an impeccable lawn, Claude’s sole interest outside of stamps.

Claudette, who spends her days spying on the neighbours through a telescope, is thrilled when new neighbours move in next door, neighbours whom she believes to be black.  Spotting a white girl in their backyard, she deduces that they are white slavers.

Claude’s mother, Claudine, drops in on one of her rare visits, announcing a hefty bequest should the couple spawn a child.  Claudette accordingly sets her sights on freeing the girl next door.

Meanwhile, the Greens’ home is burgled, prompting Claude to purchase a ferocious German Shepherd.

A pair of twin Jehovah’s witnesses visit, only to find themselves bailed up by the dog in a tree in the Greens’ yard.

It is at this point that things run off the rails.

A very dark comedy on suburban life and the tenth commandment.
