Synopsis:
Jimi Hendrix moves into one half of a London house once occupied by George Frideric Handel, some 250 years earlier.
It is at the time of the first moon landing and, through a strange warp in the space-time continuum, each of these great composers can hear one another’s music through the adjoining wall.
As a result, Hendrix’s music takes something of a baroque turn, moving towards what he dubs the ‘electric church’, whilst Handel, a closeted gay man living with his manservant, John Smith, finds himself becoming sexually liberated.
Into this scenario comes Germaine Greer, a confirmed rock groupie, who sees it as her mission to save Hendrix from himself.
At the same time, Joe – the gun-toting anti-hero of Hendrix’s famous song, suddenly finds that he is able to cross from one world to the other in search of his faithless woman.
The final result is Handel’s Hallelujah chorus as Hendrix would have written it.
