Doe, A Deer (excerpt)

Synopsis:

Jane, a political activist, is leading a crowd outside of the Russian Embassy, demonstrating against the war in Ukraine.

After several weeks of demonstrations, the Russian ambassador, Alexi, invites her into the embassy, ostensibly to put forward her case.

It soon becomes apparent that his true purpose is to demonstrate to her that her Left liberal activism is a worthless charade.

When she tries to leave, however, it becomes clear that his motives are far more sinister.

A sobering view of the realities of speaking truth to power.
