Casserole Queen Pitch Deck

Synopsis:

Malka Gross takes no prisoners.  She doesn’t need to.  She harbours a secret weapon: The humble casserole.  Armed with little more than smallgoods and a flame, she works her way from the matriarch of a sprawling Jewish family to its pariah and half-way back again – all in the space of 11 tumultuous years.  The ‘plainer’ of two sisters, she remains a stranger to feminine wiles.  Raised by Holocaust survivors, suspicion is her default.  Whims are not entertained, fools not suffered and duties not shirked, her chief fealty being to the unvarnished truth – more often than not to her detriment.  A matchmaker by trade, she will always go the extra mile, and expects the same of others – a sure recipe for disappointment.

In five one-hour-long episodes for streaming, we get an intimate view of this often hilarious, often fractured Jewish family, groping its troubled way through life.
