Blackbirds

Synopsis:

Mary and Keith’s son, Peter, is killed with a single blow to the head in an unprovoked attack in a pub.

Gina, a journalist, discovers that he was attacked because he was gay, a fact of which his parents were unaware.

Gina is desperate for the story to go public.  She wins over Keith, but Mary remains steadfastly against it.

Father Pringle, who has recently replaced Father Galloway, who was removed due to charges of paedophilia, stands with Mary.

Mary threatens to divorce Keith if he persists.

The battle lines are well and truly drawn.
