Affairs Of The Heartless: Black Hole

Synopsis:

A young man, Sun Yi, consults Dr Valerie Marsden for the first time, presenting with blood in his sperm.  She takes a full history, performs an examination, orders tests and arranges follow-up.  After he leaves, she reveals to her receptionist, Stella, that she felt an incredible, almost uncontrollable attraction to him, to the point where she could barely keep her hands off him.

Being happily married, with three children, this came as an enormous shock to her.  She confides in Stella, who insists that she must seek help from her medical defence organisation.

A meeting is organised with a Dr Josephine Solway, where she and Valerie explain to Sun Yi, without giving too much away, that he will be referred on to another GP.  He is very upset, but has no choice in the matter.

Days later, he staggers into Valerie’s surgery with severe chest pain.  And this is when everything comes undone, with consequences that nobody could have imagined.

The play is part of a trilogy:  Affairs Of The Heartless, which included Black Hole, Getting Real and A Tree, Falling.
