Synopsis:
Staz makes a living as a subject in medical trials on new drugs.
His hobby, it seems is sophistry, his stream of consciousness intriguing to the point where Cleo, the nurse inducting him into one particular trial, ends up sharing his bed.
However, his views are so far ‘outside the norm’ that not only does she reject him as a mate but, also, she considers excluding him from the trial, as it’s difficult to assess whether or not he’s actually sane.
Some time later, he commits an act that reeks of religious psychosis, and the question is whether this was the result of the drug he was trialling or whether he was simply psychotic to begin with.
‘First In Man’ gets in the back door in order to force us to question the nature and strength of our religious beliefs.
