Hostages

Synopsis

Aviva and her daughter Noa are taken hostage during the Hamas attack of October 7.

Taken to an apartment in Gaza, they are guarded by two Palestinians, Balil and Amer.

Loosely based on a series of personal accounts of women who were taken hostage on that day, the play takes a deep dive into the complex power dynamics that exist between captors and their captives.

In a very finely calibrated work, we see each of the four individuals as human beings rather than as political talking points.
