Description

Synopsis:

Amit, who is white, is dissatisfied with the size of her nose.  Her GP, Renee, who is Black, tries to gently dissuade her from surgery, but Amit is determined.

Some months after her surgery, Amit presents once more, and it slowly emerges that the nose is just one small aspect of her dysmorphic state.  With a great deal of prompting and probing, she ultimately confesses to Renee that she has always ‘felt Black’, and that her white skin does not reflect who she is.

Over the months that follow, Amit does everything in her power to try to express her ‘Blackness’, culminating in a violent and tragic end.

‘Black & White’ challenges our preconceptions about the very nature of ‘Colour’.
